Music PhD wins prize for orchestral piece
Joseph Phibbs DMA ’00 has won the 2013 British Composer Awards prize for best orchestral composition, for Rivers to the Sea.
Phibbs’s works have been championed by leading conductors, including Esa-Pekka Salonen and Leonard Slatkin, and have received performances throughout Europe and beyond. Rivers to the Sea was premiered to widespread critical acclaim in 2012 by the Philharmonia Orchestra under Salonen.
